Description | Theme: Wellness & Mental Health
Join us in a discussion of how best to introduce Forest Therapy to students, staff and the MtSAC community in the 2019-2020 academic year. Rediscover the Wildlife Sanctuary and learn about the health benefits too. The workshop will review recent research on the health benefits from contact with nature. Participants will be encouraged to consider attending and promoting the practice of Forest Therapy in the coming year to improve personal health and student success.
Outcomes:
- Attendees will increase their understanding of how interactions with nature support healthy immune systems.
- Faculty will be able to better recognize and respond to the impact of illness related absenteeism on student success.
- Attendees will gain a familiarization with the educational concepts associated with Forest Therapy.
