This session spans both breakout time slots (10:15 am-1:00 pm)

A two-hour guided walk at a slow relaxed pace covering a short distance where participants will focus on their senses. Participants identify what they are able to receive from the forest and offer reciprocity. The result is a deeper relationship with nature. The time spent in the guided walk contributes to the physical, emotional and mental health of participants while helping them incorporate the practice of regular relaxation into their lives. Research indicates regular time spent purposefully for wellness in natural surroundings strengthens immune systems and reduces the incidence of stress related illness.

Note: Vans will be shuttling participants from Sophia B. Clarke to the Wildlife Sanctuary directly following the Opening Meeting. Please be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes, outdoor attire, sunscreen, hat, and a cushion to sit on. You may also bring a notebook to journal or draw.
