Our students may display behaviors such a sudden change in academic performance, housing and/or food insecurities, concerning verbal or written statements, changes in behavior or appearance, or extreme emotions as a result of a life event. Mt. SAC’s Behavior & Wellness Team (B&WT) is a multidisciplinary campus team that guides the campus community in effectively assessing and addressing these concerns. As a member of the National Behavior Intervention Team Association (NaBITA), the BWT has been trained to assess and determine possible interventions. This session will cover the history, and structure of the Behavior & Wellness team, including an overview of the decision-making process, the referral process, confidentiality, and partnering with the reporting parties.
