This training if for anyone who is responsible for purchasing materials for their departments.

Procurement under Section 508: What is the campus's responsibility when it comes to technology? Are vendors required to create accessible technology? What language should be included in contracts? How do we know if something is accessible?

These questions and many more will be answered in this session. Recent complaint settlements with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) around accessible technology have included the need to consider access during the procurement process. The Section 508 standards offer a great strategy for meeting this requirement and helping to ensure that the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) you purchase is usable by all students.
